MUST WATCH: Angry Canadians heckle Justin Trudeau, call him a ‘communist pig’

Angry Canadian protesters told Justin Trudeau he’s “nothing but a communist pig” and that he should free political prisoners during his visit to Sudbury on Saturday.

Trudeau was told by protestors to “go back to China” and was called “disgusting” for his treatment of Canada’s political prisoners, a direct reference to the Freedom Convoy’s Tamara Lich being denied bail on Friday.

The Post Millennial‘s Beth Baisch recorded Lich’s supporters at an Ottawa court on Friday voicing their support and crying “Shame!” at the proceedings. Other supporters of Lich yelled “Why can’t they arrest Justin Trudeau?”

Tamara Lich was one of the primary organizers of the Freedom Convoy demonstration last winter, which saw thousands travel to Ottawa in protest against the Trudeau Liberals’ COVID-19 measures.

Prime Minister Trudeau doubled-down on division concerning the convoy and said, “Individuals are trying to blockade our economy, our democracy, and our fellow citizens’ daily lives. It has to stop.”

On February 14, Trudeau, in an unprecedented move, invoked Canada’s Emergencies Act to quell the convoy. He ordered police to crack down on the protest. Subsequently, Tamara Lich was arrested and held without bail on February 17.

As Lich was being arrested, she told her fellow protesters to “hold the line.” She was charged with violating Criminal Code section 464 for having counseled mischief: the obstruction, interruption and interference with the use and enjoyment of property.

Lich was released from jail after 18 days behind bars and was told she’d violate the conditions of her release if she criticized the Canadian government.

On Monday, she was arrested in her Alberta home for violating the conditions of her release, and was ordered to appear in court in Ottawa within six days.

She was denied bail on Friday as the Crown, represented by Moiz Karimjee, said that Lich had violated the conditions of her bail by appearing next to Freedom Convoy participant Tom Marazzo following her acceptance speech at the Justice Centre’s annual George Jonas Freedom Award dinner in Toronto on June 16, 2022.

Brian Jean, an Alberta MLA and frontrunner to take over for Jason Kenney as UCP leader, suggested that Freedom Convoy leader Tamara Lich has been treated abnormally by the system because of her politics Jean argued that even those who did not support the convoy should be alarmed by what’s going on.

“How Tamara Lich is being treated is not normal under Canadian law,” he wrote. “Every Canadian should be worried. Worried that someone with no criminal history, who isn’t a flight risk, is being kept in jail for minor charges in a non-violent crime, for what appear to be political reasons.”
